My nephew, a fine young man whom the girls absolutely adore, was visiting one day.
Spunky, singing the alphabet song: "W, X, Y" then pronounces Z as "ZEE"
My Nephew: We're Canadians, Spunky. We say, " Zed."
Spunky: We aren't Canadians.
My Nephew: We aren't? Then what are we?
Spunky: We're Leafs.
BWAHAHAHAHA!
(For the record, she's a Leaf fan but her Mom is a Canadiens fan. I don't even have a favourite team. LOL)
And that brings me back to a memory of her Mom as a little girl.
Her Nanny (my husband's mother) asked her if we aere going to the local park for the Canada Day festivities.
Teffie: I don't know. What's Canada Day?
Nanny: Oh, it's to celebrate being Canadian.
Teffie: Oh no, Nanny, we aren't Canadian. We're Catholic.
