North Pole romances - Requiem for an Elf and other Christmas tales
(Since Christmas is 7 months from today, I will add a couple of seasonal posts I came across)
Dec 4/16
Two elves on our shelves!
Sparky got a little girl one for her birthday, so now the other little dude has a friend.
Spunky was quite disappointed that they weren't holding hands this morning, but I told her they just met and probably had to get to know each other.
She said, "Well they both just came from the North Pole. They probably already do know each other."
LMAO!
Dec 11/16
Tragedy struck in our household today! The Elf on the Shelf fell off the shelf! Actually, the silly thing had climbed up on the ceiling fan and she just fell. She sat there pretty secure all night, but I guess all the vibrations from kids running around jiggled her and loosened her a bit.
Over the objections of Spunky, who insisted I use tongs, I picked her up with gloves since touching her removes the magic, apparently.
I put her in the Christmas tree for now, and went to google to see how to handle such a crisis, as I have never dealt with this before. (First World problems, huh? LOL)
The site said to sprinkle cinnamon and sing a Christmas Carol.
Spunky thinks that is just weird, but Sparky had suggested bringing out the leftover Easter candy that was stashed in the cupboard and forgotten. LOL
So, the cinnamon has been sprinkled and the carol has been sung, and now we wait for the magic to return.
(Later that day...)
The magic is back!
While the girls were playing in Sparky's room, the elf mysteriously disappeared from the tree. About an hour or so later, she and her little buddy suddenly appeared on top of the curio cabinet. No more ceiling fan acrobatics for those two! LOL

Me (to Sparky): Did you have a good Christmas?
Sparky: Yes.
Me: Was Santa good to you?
Sparky: (without even looking up from the doll she was playing with): He spoiled me.
LMAO!
